Single Technologies — visual identity
Visual identity for a biotech company revolutionizing DNA sequencing through 3D volumetric technology.
Single Technologies is a Stockholm-based KTH spin-off developing the world’s first 3D DNA sequencer—a device so advanced it has the potential to sequence entire human genomes for just $10. With deep roots in optical engineering and a clear ambition to disrupt a $10B market dominated by legacy players, Single needed a bold new identity to match their breakthrough technology.

Brief/Challenge
Single Technologies needed a visual identity to match the disruptive nature of its technology — a 3D sequencing platform that enables radically faster and cheaper genome analysis. The challenge was to create a brand expression that felt scientific yet forward-looking, serious yet distinct, with the flexibility to grow alongside the company’s evolving ambitions.
The identity had to communicate credibility within genomics, while also standing out among established industry players.
Solution
The solution is a clean, modern identity anchored by a custom logotype and flexible visual system. The typography strikes a balance between precision and approachability, while a minimal color palette of black, white, and signal blue reinforces a high-tech, trustworthy aesthetic.
Inspired by volumetric data and the grid logic of sequencing arrays, the identity system uses modular structures and spatial layouts across touchpoints — from digital interfaces to technical decks. The result is a calm but confident expression that supports Single Technologies' ambitions to reshape the future of genomics.
